Promovenda, who was born in Tabanan Regency, raised a dissertation entitled The Effect of Blended Learning on Self-Efficacy and Learning Outcomes of Basic Design by Controlling the Initial Ability of State Vocational School Students in Bali.
In front of the examination commission, he explained that the results of his research showed that blended learning, which uses synchronous and asynchronous approaches, is more effective than blended learning, which only uses one approach. “The blend uses asynchronous and synchronous approaches. The result here is that blending using a synchronous and an asynchronous approach is more effective than just one approach, “he said.
Although many challenges were encountered during the research data collection process due to the implementation of community activity restrictions (PPKM), thanks to his hard work, he finally managed to become the 26th doctor born from the Undiksha Postgraduate.
The Chancellor of Undiksha, as chairman of the session, revealed that the research carried out by promovenda was very good in the current pandemic conditions. Because all major universities, including Undiksha, still carry out online activities, except for the sports and medical faculties, “With this blended learning program by applying synchronous and asynchronous, it is something that really fits the needs of today’s era,” he said. The Chancellor of Nusa Dua hopes that in the future, this research will continue to be developed so that it can also be an option for other universities.
Meanwhile, the Director of Postgraduate Undiksha Prof. Dr. I Gusti Putu Suharta, M.Sc. revealed that in order to realize quality graduates, several programs have been implemented by the postgraduate, including updating the curriculum, creating a study acceleration service center with the aim of providing assistance to students who have problems, as well as holding periodic meetings to find out the problems. so that treatment can be given from the start. “Quality is indeed a major concern in the implementation of postgraduate education, and students graduating on time are equally important,” he explained.
He further stated that blended learning has been carried out since 2019 by postgraduates; it’s just that it still has to be developed and perfected. “In terms of quality, we have carried out according to the current situation of blended learning since 2019, so that once there is a 2020 pandemic, we are not surprised because we have done blended learning before,” he continued.
In the future, it is hoped that graduates will not only be job seekers, but be able to exist in any situation in line with Undiksha’s postgraduate motto, namely Bakti for BAKTI (Character, Adaptive, Collaborative, Skilled, and Inspirational).
