Singaraja – The Postgraduate Program at Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) bproudly celebrated the achievements of two new doctors who successfully defended their dissertations in the Doctor Promotion Test on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Held at the Postgraduate Auditorium, the event featured two sessions, each highlighting the academic journey of a promovendus from different study programs. Both candidates achieved the cumlaude distinction for their outstanding academic performance.

the first session featured Dewa Ayu Made Manu Okta Priantini from the Elementary Education Study Program, who presented her dissertation titled “Development of Sociological-Based Social Studies Teaching Materials to Improve Humanistic Attitudes and Multicultural Skills of Elementary School Students in Denpasar City”. This research introduced an innovative approach to developing teaching materials based on sociology, aligning with the needs of multicultural education at the elementary school level.  With maintaining her dissertation in front of examiners, promovenda successfully achieved 134th doctor produced by the Postgraduate Program at Undiksha, with a remarkable Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3,97. Her Cumlaude achievements reflect both her dedication and the significance of her research. 

The second session showcased Retno Indriaswuri from the Education Science Study Program, who defended her dissertation titled “Development of Mindfulness Counseling Guide for Walking Meditation Technique to Reduce Disordered Attention in Students.”  This study offered a valuable contribution to education, specifically in counseling, by introducing a mindfulness-based walking meditation technique as an effective solution for addressing attention disorder in students. Retno’s success marked her as the 135th doctor produced by the Postgraduate Program at Undiksha, earning a 3,93 GPA with the cumlaude distinction. 

These achievements reinforce the Postgraduate Program at Undiksha’s commitment to advancing the quality of education through innovative and applicative research. The success of these two scholars serves as an inspiration to the academic community to pursue excellence and contribute meaningfully to educational development.
