Singaraja – The Postgraduate Program at Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) proudly celebrated the achievement of its 131st doctoral graduate in the field of Elementary Education on October 15, 2024. I Ketut Suparya successfully defended his dissertation, titled “The Development of Science Textbooks Integrated with Local Culture and Tri Kaya Parisudha to Improve Literacy and Critical Thinking Skills of Elementary School Students” during the Doctoral Promotion Test held at the Postgraduate Auditorium Undiksha.

Thevent was attended by the examiners, academics, and the promovendus’ family. During the test, I Ketut Suparya demonstrated remarkable expertise in presenting his dissertation, which makes a significant contribution to education by integrating local cultural values and the philosophy of Tri Kaya Parisudha. His innovative approach aims to enhance literacy and critical thinking skills among elementary students through contextually relevant science textbooks.  

This academic success was marked not only by earning a doctoral degree but also by an outstanding achievement of graduating with a commendation predicate or cumlaude and a Cumulative Index Achievement (GPA) of 3,97, reflecting his dedication and the high quality of his research. 

With this milestone, I Ketut Suparya aspires to bring a positive impact to education, particularly in Elementary Education. His research opens new opportunities for educational innovations that integrate local culture and traditional wisdom to improve learning quality in Indonesia.
