Singaraja – Postgraduate at Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) held a doctoral promotion exam, on Friday (27/1/2023). The exam was attended by promovendus I Putu Gede Parma from the Doctoral Study Program in Educational Sciences.
At this exam, promovendus Gede Parma presented a dissertation entitled “Based EvaluationCSE-UCLA Regarding the Implementation of the Regional Spatial Plan for the Kalibukbuk Lovina Area as an AttractionResort Tourism in Bali Province”.
The Lovina tourist area is currently only known as a marine tourism area which is popular for its dolphins along Lovina Beach to Hepi Beach in Pemaron Village. The Lovina Beach tourist attraction is a natural tourist attraction that has great potential to be developed because there is still a lot of tourism potential in it that can attract more domestic and foreign tourists. A dilemmatic situation arises when spatial planning is also faced with various other problems, while tourism is only one land use activity, so the attention of planners is divided. It seems that other needs such as housing, transportation, trade, and the manufacturing industry are seen as more urgent than simply seeking “entertainment and pleasure”. The problem that then arises is that tourism is not discussed enough by planners. This problem is the background for Promovendus in conducting this research.
Promovendus, who is also a lecturer at the Undiksha Faculty of Economics, through his research has produced a unique thing that can be seen from the novelty of this research, namely that it is based on a real picture that the quality of implementing regional spatial planning in the Kalibukbuk Lovina area is an attraction. Resort Tourism from needs Assessment, Program Planning, and summative Evaluation were found to be effective. This effectiveness remains by prioritizing the general welfare of the community as well as setting priorities for tourism development activity programs which include developing tourism destinations, capacity, tourism marketing, and programs related to office service functions and tourism and other cultural management. This will support the success of tourism development in Buleleng Regency. So, the uniqueness of this research is that it is something new and has never been done, especially in Buleleng Regency, and takes one of the core areas, namely the Kalibukbuk Lovina area.
Promovendus, who was born in 1977, successfully defended his dissertation before the board of examiners, thus making him the 56th doctorate born from the Undiksha Postgraduate Program. This man born in West Mataram certainly feels happy because he has successfully gone through the long process of obtaining a doctorate.
On this happy occasion, the Promoter, Prof. Dr. Nyoman Dantes, representing the promoter team, expressed his congratulations on the achievement of the doctoral degree currently achieved and hopes that this can provide positive lessons for academic development and the promotional environment. “On behalf of the promoter team, I would like to congratulate you and hope you can achieve the highest academic position in higher education, not just the highest academic title,” said Prof. Dantes. The doctoral degree currently achieved is the end of the suffering in compiling a dissertation and the beginning of new suffering for the demands of being a lecturer, both in making journals and books. Hopefully this “academic suffering” will provide reinforcement and motivation to improve and improve oneself academically so that what is obtained now can be donated to the next generation.(hms pps)
