The syllabus is a development or description of the curriculum which contains; course synopsis, course competencies, competency indicators, topics/sub topics, and references. In order for the curriculum to be implemented properly in class lectures, the syllabus needs to be elaborated/developed into a Lecture Program Unit (SAP). SAP loading components; competency standards, basic competencies, competency indicators, lecture materials and their descriptions, learning experiences (learning strategies), learning media/tools, assessment systems, and references. SAP is a projection of activities or activities that will be carried out by lecturers in lectures. The preparation and development of the syllabus is an integral part of curriculum development and at the same time becomes one of the important tasks of lecturers/teaching staff in higher education. The syllabus contains a framework of lecture materials (teaching materials) that must be delivered by lecturers/teaching staff to students.
- B.Mechanism of Preparation of Syllabus and SAP.
- Lecturer prepares syllabus, SAP (Lecture Program Unit) and references/library materials that have been determined by the lecturer in charge of the course.
- Syllabus, SAP and references/library materials for core curriculum courses and institutional curriculum are compiled by groups of lecturers/teachers in each section coordinated by the section head.
- Each course is coordinated by a team of lecturers.
- Syllabus and SAP materials must contain aspects of philosophy, theory, positive law and values accompanied by case analysis using a theoretical or applied approach.
- Syllabus and SAP courses are made in a separate book which is an integral part of the academic manual.
- As a follow-up to the syllabus and SAP for each course, a module or textbook is made as a guide for lecturers in delivering lecture material.
