The emergence of various social and environmental problems causes social responsibility accounting to be increasingly used by various companies. Social responsibility accounting has long been a concern of accountants. Social responsibility accounting is important because companies need to convey information about social activities and environmental protection to company stakeholders. Companies not only convey financial information to existing investors and creditors as well as potential investors or company creditors, but also need to pay attention to the social and environmental interests in which the company operates. So that currently accountants who have expertise in the field of social responsibility accounting are increasingly needed in the world of work.
Based on this, to increase students’ social responsibility accounting knowledge, the Master Programme in Accounting, Postgraduate Programme, Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha in collaboration with NCSR held joint teaching with practicing lecturers from NCSR in the odd semester of 2020/2021 Academic Year, from January 25 to March 8, 2021, with a duration of 7 lecture meetings. NCSR was the official body appointed by GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) based in the Netherlands, as the Official GRI Training Partner for Southeast Asia (covering Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines).
