This Guest Lecture activity is an effort to increase students’ knowledge and insight about certain subjects by inviting academics from outside the institution. In addition, this activity is also a manifestation or realization of the cooperation programme initiated by the Study Programme.
In the 2nd semester of the 2020-2021 Academic Year, the Master Programme in Management Sciences held a Guest Lecture activity. One of these activities was held on Saturday, June 19, 2021, for the Global Marketing course, with academics from Griffith University, Australia, as speakers, namely Maria Dharmesti, Ph.D. She is an active lecturer and researcher in Marketing, Digital Marketing, and sustainability. The topic raised in this guest lecture session is Digital Marketing which is the material in Chapter 14. Participants are all 2nd-semester students of Management Sciences. Mrs. Putu Indah Rahmawati, M.Bus, opened the activity., Ph.D., as the Study Programme Coordinator.
In the session, which was held online, the speaker explained the material for 45 minutes and continued with a question and answer session. The students looked focused and very enthusiastic in listening to the presentation of the material from the speaker in English. Student enthusiasm can be seen from active interactions in discussions and questions and answers about Digital Marketing. This topic is very relevant in this unstoppable era of Information Technology.
The speaker started the presentation by showing the changes in marketing media from era to era. She provides examples of digital marketing activities and tips for implementing digital marketing. Students are also invited to think critically about digital marketing practices carried out by international companies.
