Several forms of collaborative activities have been implemented in Management Science Study Program. These can be in the form of joint teaching, guest lecture, joint research, joint community service, and joint publication with educational institutions or industry. Such collaborations are important not only for students but also for lecturers particularly in gaining broaden perspective about certain topics.
A guest lecture was conducted by Mr. Bayu Waskito Nugroho, the Senior Vice President of MGM-Horison Hotels Group. He shared his knowledge and experience about “Brand and Product Decision” for the course of Global Marketing. Mr. Nugroho has been in the industries for many years and have achieved one of the top position in a national company.
The presentation was around 45 minutes and it was followed by a question and answer session. Using his own experience and knowledge at the MGM Horisons Hotels Group, he shared about how to manage brand and decide on product that improve customer’s awareness, loyalty, and at the end can increase profitability. A few strategies he included were creating effective brand, managing brand, improve customer awareness, and how to win the competition in the market place
The guest lecture was held using an online platform (Zoom) and was attended by all students. They showed a great enthusiasm and actively engaged in the discussion and the question and answer session. The speaker also expressed his appreciation for student’s participation. He mentioned that hopefully students could improve their knowledge and understanding about branding and deciding on the product.
