A guest lecture for the subject of Contemporary Management Issues was held on November 29, 2020. This lecture was conducted in a mini talk show setting. The speaker for this class was Agus Sarwa Edy, SE.,MM, the Business Development Manager of Coco Mart Group. The topic was Small Medium Business Enterprise (SMEs), one of the chapter in Contemporary Management Issues. The Guest Lecture was conducted using an online platform (Zoom) and was attended by all semester 2 students.

As usual, the session was started with the speaker’s presentation and was followed by discussion and Question and Answer Session. Mr. Edy began with an introduction of his company. He then followed with an explanation of how the company survive during the Covid-19 pandemic situation. The presentation was approximately for 45 minutes. It was then continued with discussion and Question and Answer Session for the remaining 75 minutes. More specifically, Mr. Edy shared about agility and adaptability strategies to respond to external environment. It was also explained the survival strategies for all outlets of Coco Mart.

Students seemed to be enthusiastic during the whole session. This can be seen from how they focused on the lecture and engaged during the discussion. After the lecture, they explained that the session was insightful. They learned about the small business packages offered by Coco Mart as to help people who became jobless during the pandemic situation. Similarly, the speaker was also satisfied with the interaction with students and hope that the session was beneficial.
