Singaraja-Ganesha Education University Postgraduate (Undiksha) again held an open doctoral exam in mid-February 2021. There are two promovendus from different study programs. The exam for Gede Sukanaya took place on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. He who is the head of SMKN 1 Kubuaddan raised research on “Portfolio Assessment of English Writing Ability and Learning Discipline with Student Self-Efficacy Covariables.” This research cannot be separated from the gap between expectations and reality in students’ English skills, especially in writing, as a result of the use of inappropriate assessments. “Portfolio assessment can be a solution to improve students’ English writing skills,” he said.
He hopes that the results of this research can support the development of education in other schools, with the hope that it will have an impact on improving student achievement. “This assessment is effective for improving student achievement. I hope this can be applied later and continues to be developed,” he said.
Meanwhile, Elia Cahaya took the exam on Wednesday (17/2/2021). He titled the research “The Effect of the Guided Inquiry Learning Model on Creativity and Language Ability Judging from the Social Interaction Ability of Group B Kindergarten Children in North Kuta District, Badung Regency.” As a result, this learning model is effective when applied. In particular, relating to lectures at Undiksha Postgraduate, he stated that he received good service, including guidance by promoters and co-promoters.
This new doctorate is expected to continue to develop science so that he can contribute more to the world of education. In addition, it is hoped that it will also promote Undiksha’s Postgraduate Program to the general public. In an effort to accelerate student graduation, Undiksha postgraduates take strategic steps, starting with distributing supervisors according to their fields of expertise and also paying attention to the burden of lecturers. In addition, there is also the establishment of a study acceleration service center whose task is to help students solve problems in their studies, both academic and non-academic. (hms)
