Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) Postgraduate held a doctoral promotion exam on February 2 and 3, 2022. This exam was followed by Kadek Wirahyuni and Suparwoto Sapto Wahono from the Doctoral Programme in Language Education and A. A. Istri Putra Kusumawati from the Doctoral Programme in Education Science.
In this offline exam, Kadek Wirahyuni presented a dissertation on developing digital-based affective evaluation instruments for personality development courses at Undiksha. She explained that the ultimate goal of this study was to determine student attitudes toward Bahasa Indonesia. The results of her research were successfully defended in front of the examiners.
In preparing her dissertation, she did not deny that there were challenges she faced. One of them is preparing the affective instruments, which is new for her. According to her, it is very different from psychomotor and cognitive instruments. “Creating affective instruments is not easy, not like cognitive. The difficulty is in composing the language. So here I learn a lot,” she explained.
After the exam, Kadek Wirahyuni, who is also a lecturer, hopes that the results of his research can be applied to personality development courses, especially at Undiksha. In addition, for Bahasa Indonesia, she hopes that students always have a positive attitude.
Meanwhile, Sapto Wahono raised a dissertation on the Development of English Course Textbooks based on 21st-century learning skills. He hopes that this textbook can be used in the future, especially for students. He acknowledged that in the preparation process, there were obstacles faced. However, due to his persistence and the help of the promoter and co-promoter, finally, his work can be adequately produced.
Meanwhile, Agung Kusumawati raised a dissertation on evaluating the implementation of nursing competency tests using CIPP-O at STIKES, Bali Province. She explained that this study is to see the problems during the competency test and then find a solution. “Thus, the moral obligation is back to disseminate these findings and not to beat A or B, but rather to find solutions what can be done by providing some recommendations,” She explained.
The Rector of Undiksha, the Chief Examiner, congratulated the new doctors. He hopes that these new doctors will continue to improve their knowledge and be increasingly able to contribute to the development of education and society.
Postgraduate Director, Prof. Dr. I Gusti Putu Suharta, M.Sc., admitted that he was very proud of the “birth” of a new doctor from Undiksha, especially in the Covid-19 pandemic situation. He also appreciated the performance of the lecturers, who were still effective in guiding students even though they were online.
The new doctors are expected to continue to develop themselves according to the demands because there are many problems in society that require solutions according to the existing context. “So we hope that our graduates can help solve problems and help the community to improve the quality of humans in general, so it does not stop here,” he hoped.
Through this exam, Undiksha Postgraduate has graduated 31 doctors in various fields of study. In order to realize competitive graduates, Undiksha Postgraduate continues to improve the quality of learning.
