Postgraduate Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) held a doctoral promotion exam on Wednesday, June 4, 2022. This exam was followed by a presentation by Dr. Desak Putu Saridewi from the Doctoral Study Program in Educational Sciences.
Desak Saridewi presented his dissertation, “Development of Cartoon-Media Hindu Religion Learning Materials to Improve Intrapersonal and Interpersonal Skills of Students with Disabilities at the State Special School 2 Mataram”. In his presentation, it was stated that this research was carried out to provide solutions for developing Hindu religious learning materials using cartoon media, designed according to the learning characteristics of students with disabilities. This learning material is narrative content equipped with pictures arranged by modifying the appearance of sign language.
The results of this study indicate that the characteristics, concepts, and product structures of Hindu religion teaching materials using cartoons strongly support intrapersonal skills that are focused on aspects of honesty, discipline, and independence, as well as interpersonal skills that are focused on aspects of courtesy, caring, and self-confidence.
This final project, at the same time, led him to get a doctorate and become the 34th doctor who was “born” from the Undiksha Postgraduate Program.
