Singaraja – The Postgraduate Program at Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) organized a socialization event titled “Corruption Criminal Offenses and Gratification Prevention” on Friday, November 22, 2024 at the Postgraduate Auditorium Undiksha. This initiative aimed to foster a culture of integrity and transparency. The keynote speaker for the event was Edi Irsan Kurniawan, S.H., M.Hum., the Head of the State Prosecutor of Buleleng.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., the Director of the Postgraduate Program, highlighted that this event was a strategic step to support the institution’s commitment to achieving Corruption-Free Zones (ZI WBK) and Clean Bureaucracy and Service Zones (WBBM).
The session was attended by program coordinators, lecturers, educators, and students moderated by Dr. Kadek Wirahyuni, S.Pd., M.Pd. During his presentation, Edi Irsan delved into the root causes of corruption, with a particular focus on how gratification often serves as a gateway to corrupt practices. He shared recent case studies from governmental sectors, providing relevant insights for the participants.
The discussion session was highly interactive, with participants raising critical questions about corruption issues in their communities. A particularly engaging topic was the distinction between gratification and customary gifts in daily life.
The activity closed by giving certificate to the keynote speaker by Prof. Jampel, as the appreciation symbol for the contribution in producing anti-corruption awareness in the academic environment. Through this activity, the Postgraduate Program Undiksha is more to show their commitment as the education institution orientated on integrity and transparency.
These are the real steps of the Postgraduate Program Undiksha in producing academic generation not only competent intellectuals, but also the strong characteristic to decline all forms of corruption. The event concluded with Prof. Jampel presented a certificate of appreciation to the keynote speaker, recognizing his valuable contribution to promoting anti-corruption awareness in the academic environment.
