Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) Postgraduate continues to maximize the implementation of online learning, including preparing the equipment. This is one of the strategies to increase the student body in the future. This was conveyed by the Director, Prof. Dr. I Gusti Putu Suharta, M.Si. On the sidelines of the stabilization activity, presented the resource person, the Head of the Undiksha Online Learning Center, Dr. I Gde Wawan Sudatha, S.Pd., S.T., M.Pd, Tuesday (17/9/2019).
Currently, online learning has been carried out for 50% of the courses. This is highly appreciated because lecturers have taken innovative steps in increasingly fierce competition and the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. However, his party continues to make efforts to increase it so that later it can reach a minimum of 75%. “We continue to strengthen this so that it will be better in the future. In terms of the learning device, it will be included in one system,” he explained.
Undiksha holds the status as a reference for the Institute of Teachers’ Education for Eastern Indonesia. By maximizing online learning, the reach will be expanded and able to trigger the interest of the national community. “With this learning, Undiksha will be able to become a reference for Central and Western Indonesia as well. It can be more competitive at the national level,” he said.
Meanwhile, Undiksha Rector, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd said that to support online learning, infrastructure has been improved, especially the network. However, lecturers are asked to continue innovating, one of which is the learning model. “Lecturers can make learning content in the form of videos,” he explained. Furthermore, Undiksha has implemented 100% online learning for Teacher Professional Education and 50% for Personality Development Courses. According to the evaluation, the results are not inferior to face-to-face learning. “If this study is managed properly, the results will be outstanding. Many people have implemented it abroad, and we at Undiksha continue to boost it. For Postgraduates, we ask for a minimum of 75% application. Our human resources are also not inferior. I dare say so,” he said.
The breakthrough taken by this university with eight faculties is expected to improve the quality of students and make the institution a national trend center that has become the rector’s vision. “In my vision as rector, I want to make Undiksha a Trend Center. Online learning is one of the supports,” he added. In addition to the postgraduate program, the learning process is also strengthened by the Faculty of Language and Arts Undiksha through workshops by presenting resource persons from the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education.
