Singaraja – The Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) Postgraduate Program again held a doctoral promotion exam on February 13, 2023. The exam was attended by 2 people, namely promovendus Kadek Yogi Parta Lesmana and promovendus Ni Wayan Rati from the Doctoral Science Study Program.
In the exam which took place offline, promovendus Yogi Parta presented a dissertation entitled “Development of a Character-Based Gyaku-Tsuki Chudan Technique Training Model to Improve the Physical and Mental Readiness of Karate Athletes”. Based on the research results, it can be said that to improve the mentality of karate athletes, the physical training model of the character-based Gyaku-tsuki Chudan technique is more effective than the training model used by previous karate trainers. This research resulted in a product in the form of a character-based physical training model that can be applied according to the movement tasks in the product to improve the physical and mental abilities of karate athletes. If other researchers want to develop a similar training model, implementation will require a more complete training model and a larger number of dojos.
Promovendus, who was born in Singaraja, successfully defended his dissertation before the board of examiners, thus making him the 58th doctorate born from the Undiksha Postgraduate Program.
On the other hand, Promovenda Wayan Rati presented a dissertation entitled “Development of Project-Based Learning Tools in a HOTS-Oriented Network to Improve 21st Century Skills and Science Learning Outcomes on the Ecosystem Theme for Grade V Elementary Schools”. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that the network project-based learning tools developed are effective in improving 21st-century learning and innovation skills and the cognitive aspects of science learning outcomes of students. The implications of this learning tool can help develop the high-level thinking skills of fifth-grade elementary school students.
Through the results of this research, Promovenda, born in 1976, succeeded in defending his dissertation before the board of examiners which led to him becoming the 59th doctorate born from the Undiksha Postgraduate Program.
